Jackie "Jocko" Edward Sherman, age 84, of 20818 16th Road, Culver, Indiana, 46511, passed away at 12:50 p.m., on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the home of his grandson, with his loving family by his side.

Jocko was born on February 7, 1928, in Plymouth, Indiana, to Ernest and Beulah (Webster) Sherman. He had been a lifelong resident of the Marshall County area. Jocko, and the former Ilene Powell, were united in marriage on January 15, 1949. They had been married for 60 years when Ilene passed away on April 9, 2009.

Jocko retired in 1988 from AM General as their Director of Contracts. He served his community as a Plymouth Volunteer Fireman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during WWII and was a lifetime member of the Plymouth V.F.W.

Jocko is survived by his grandsons, Michael (Stacy) Sherman of Culver and Bruce Allen Sherman of Louisiana; his sisters, Linda, Beverly, Nancy, and Shirley; his brother, Denny; and six great-grandchildren.

Kathy, Jenny, and Aryn, for their special care of "Jocko".
