BILL AND BETTY MAY |
William T. May, age 80, of 216 South Oak Drive, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2009, at his home with his loving family by his side. Bill was born on June 15, 1928, in Lexington, Kentucky, to William T. and Nancy (Lowry) May. On April 9, 1949, Bill and the former Betty Dulin, were united in marriage in Lexington, Kentucky. Together they raised their five children. They have been residents of the Plymouth area for 39 years.
Bill was a retiree of the United Telephone Company. He had been active in the Lakeville Lions Club and also had been a member of the Plymouth V.F.W. Post #1162. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Japan Occupational Unit. He loved to fish and spent a lot of time fishing on the Mississinewa River, in Indiana. He was a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and also enjoyed collecting coins. Bill is survived by loving wife, Betty of 59 years; their three daughters, Cathy McMillen of Plymouth, Lisa and Jerry Gushwa of Granger, Indiana, and Toni and Tim Trump of Plymouth; their two sons, William T., Jr. and Tammy May of New York and Michael D. and Tonya May of Plymouth. Also surviving are nine grandchildren. Memorial services, for Bill, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2009, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. A time of visiting with the May family will be on Sunday, January 11, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563.
