Leota C. Hendricks, 81, of 222 Parkview Street, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at 5:32 a.m. at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, in Plymouth. Leota was born on October 22, 1927, in Marshall County, Indiana, to Owen and Blanche (Parker) Yockey. Leota and Wayne Hendricks were united in marriage on February 16, 1947, in Bremen, Indiana. Leota was a homemaker and stayed at home with their four sons. She was a member of the Inwood United Methodist Church, in Inwood, Indiana. Leota is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wayne Hendricks; their sons, Gary (Sherry) Hendricks of Plymouth, Terry Hendricks of New Paris, Indiana, Mark (Julie) Hendricks of Evansville, Indiana, and Kevin Hendricks of Plymouth; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Nelson (Doris) Yockey of Plymouth, Herschel (Kay) Yockey of Plymouth, and Merle (Betty) Yockey of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janet; her sister, Marjorie Breeding; and her brother, Elwyn Yockey. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, in Plymouth, with the Rev. Gail Law officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. A time of visiting with the Hendricks family and sharing memories of Leota, will be Friday, January 16, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Inwood United Methodist Church, 11211 Hawthorn Road, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563 or to Southern Care Hospice, 310 West McKinley, Suite 340 Mishawaka, Indiana, 46545.
