Ruth E. Brant, 87, of Estero, Florida, formerly of Bowling Green, Indiana, and Walkerton, Indiana, passed into God's House on Monday, February 2, 2009.
She was born on February 12, 1921, in Bowling Green, Indiana, to Etta (Orman) and Skyler Arney. Ruth married Philemon Brant on November 30, 1938. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1980.
Mrs. Brant is survived by twin daughters, June (Jerry, deceased) Wiegand and Jean (Joseph) Lowry. She was preceded in death by her brother, Rex Arney. She is also survived by four grandsons, James, Jason (Carla), and Jonathan (Sherri) Wiegand and Brian (Rose) Lowry; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brant loved to make quilts and crochet afghans. She gave many to relatives and friends. She always had tomato plants blooming at her home in Florida.
VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563, is handling the arrangements. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2009, at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Walkerton, Indiana.
