Betty L. Cain, age 86, of 222 Parkview, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 7:20 a.m., on Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, in Plymouth.

Betty was born on May 12, 1922, in South Bend, Indiana, to Lawrence and Bernice Anderson. Betty had been a lifetime resident of the South Bend and Plymouth areas.

Betty married James McCallister. After James' passing, Betty married James F. Cain on July 20, 1956. He passed away on July 3, 1980.

Betty was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church and was the librarian at Saint Michael School for many years.

Betty is survived by her sons, Joseph B. McCallister of Fresno, California and Tom Cain of Angola, Indiana; and her daughter, Marjorie Gadbury of Muncie, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James McCallister; her second husband, James F. Cain; her son, James Cain, Jr.; and her daughter, Loretta May.

A Memorial Mass, to celebrate the life of Betty, will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Saint Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father William Kummer officiating.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February, 21, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m., at Saint Michael Church.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, with the Rev. Father William Kummer officiating.

The family would like for memorial contributions to be given to the Saint Michael School Library.
