Arthur E. Wilcox, age 70, of 1126 Warana Drive, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer since the year of 2002. Art was born on January 28, 1939, in Marshall County, Indiana, to Chester and Leona (Masterson) Wilcox. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He had been employed at PiRod, Inc., in Plymouth, for 38 years. On December 26, 1973, he and Linda K. Wade were married. He was a member of the Plymouth Moose Lodge #741. Art is survived by his loving wife, Linda Wilcox of Plymouth; their children, Cindy Spence of Plymouth, David Wilcox of Plymouth, John Milton (and his significant other) Brandi Givens of Plymouth, Amber and Jeremy Daley of Argos, Indiana, and Stefanie Wilcox at home; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Edward (Shirley) Wilcox of Argos. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Leona Wilcox. Funeral services, for Art, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Denise Anderson officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. A time of visiting with the Wilcox family, will be on Monday, March 30, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, from Noon to 2:00 p.m., at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563. The family would like for memorial contributions to be given, in Art's name, to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 112 South Center Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563.
