Vera Vargo, 95, of 222 Parkview Street, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 1:40 p.m., at Pilgrim Manor Nursing, Plymouth.

Vera was born on November 1, 1913, in Saint Joseph County, Indiana, to Joseph and Theresa (Popp) Vargo. She was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church of Plymouth.

Vera moved from North Liberty, Indiana (Potato Creek) to Plymouth in 1970. She worked on the family farm and also worked in an attorney's office in Plymouth. Vera loved her church and volunteered doing many things, including stuffing inserts into the newspapers at the Pilot News.

Vera had her pilot's license, wrote poetry, and was an animal lover.

Vera is survived by her caregiver, Carolyn Chapman and family. She was preceded in death by her brother and sisters.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at Saint Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father William Kummer officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Marshall County Humane Society, Post Office Box #22, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563.
