Loretta M. Hoffer, age 93, of 805 Baker Street Lot 92, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Catherine Kasper Life Care Center in Donaldson, Indiana. Loretta was born on October 29, 1915, in Inwood, Indiana, to George and Bessie Fern (Stiles) Cappaus. On January 17, 1933, Loretta and Clarence J. Hoffer were united in marriage. Together they raised their three children. Loretta enjoyed being a homemaker and a mother. She enjoyed going camping and was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Donaldson, Indiana. The Hoffers had been residents of Donaldson for many years. Loretta is survived by her two daughters, Wanda Gibson of Plymouth and Mary Helen (Richard) Palmer of Plymouth; her son; Jerry (Donna) Hoffer of Plymouth; two granddaughters, Connie Goad and Diane Williams; two grandsons, Stanley Palmer and Darrel Hoffer; three great-granddaughters, Jessica Goad, Jenelle Plamer, and Elizabeth Palmer; five great-grandsons, D.J. Hoffer, Robbie Hoffer, J.D. Goad, Jamie Goad, and Jason Goad. She was preceded in death by her brother; Raymond Cappaus; and two sisters, Mary Roberts and Zelphia Mansfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Denise Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Grovertown, Indiana. A time of visiting with the Hoffer family will be on Friday, April 24, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Evangelical Covenant Church, Post Office Box 67, Donaldson, Indiana, 46513.
