Mildred M. Fritter, 92, of 222 Parkview Street, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009, at 11:15 a.m., at the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, in Plymouth. She was born on August 20, 1917, in May, Indiana, to Lowell and Pearl (Warrick) Bowles. John E. Fritter and Mildred Bowles were united in marriage on November 17, 1937, in South Bend, Indiana. John passed away on October 24, 1985. Mildred was a wife, homemaker, and mother. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and drawing. She had been a member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge #1355. Mildred is survived by her daughters, Peggy Amor of Plymouth, Virginia Hummel of Greenwood, Indiana, Sue (John) Drews of Plymouth; her sons Leland Fritter of Argos, Indiana and William Fritter of Plymouth; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her brother Ivan Bowles of Rushville, Indiana; and her sister Jane Ashton of Florida. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, John; her daughter, Donna Jacobs; her sons, John Fritter (as an infant) and Harold Fritter. Also preceding her in death were six brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, in Plymouth, with the Rev. Dr. E. Dean Fager officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. A time of meeting with the family will be on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563.
