George R. Fleming, 66, of Plymouth, Indiana, died at 10:30 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the Hospice House in Elkhart, Indiana.

George was born May 16, 1943, in Regina, Kentucky. He was the son of Russell and Juanita Fleming. They preceded him in death.

George had lived in the Marshall County area since 1978. He married Shirley (Wilhelm) Overholser on December 14, 1991, in the Bourbon Country Church.

George was an OTR Semi-Truck Driver for most of his life. He enjoyed telling stories of his trips across the country. While his health still permitted, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Good News Baptist Church, of Plymouth, and loved to tell people of the saving grace of Jesus.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Fleming of Plymouth; his son, Everett (Tosha) Fleming of Gulf Shores, Alabama; his daughters, Anita (Robert) Grizzell of Chatsworth, Georgia, Elizabeth Partridge of Plymouth, and Jacqueline (Michael) Yates of Plymouth; his step-son, Daniel Overholser of Cocoa, Florida; his brother, William (Evelyn) Fleming of Shelbyville, Kentucky; six sisters, Betty Ostburg of Longview, Washington, Cora Gaither of Corpus Christi, Texas, Libby Edwards of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Alice Anderson of Pikeville, Kentucky, Jennifer (Sam) Rose of Ashcamp, Kentucky, and Deana Rhea Fleming of Georgetown, Kentucky; his mother-in-law, Marie Wilhelm of
Plymouth; his sister-in-law, Rose (Ed) Fritz of Plymouth; his brother-in-law, Kenneth (Linda) Wilhelm of Camden, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Becky; and his sisters, Anita Cherry and Shirley Owen.
