RUTH AND FORREST PIPPENGER |
Ruth Pippenger, 92, of 635 Oakhill Avenue, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at 8:35 a.m., at Miller's Merry Manor, in Plymouth.
Ruth was the daughter of Arthur and Olga Parsons Samuelson. She was born on April 18, 1917, in South Bend, Indiana.
On June 14, 1941, Forrest L. Pippenger, took Ruth Samuelson, to be his bride. After 44 years of marriage, Forrest passed away on November 15, 1985.
Ruth graduated from Manchester College, with a teaching degree, and taught two years in Teegarden, Indiana. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plymouth, where she also belonged to the WELCA Club and the quilting group. She loved baking with her grandchildren and they in turn learned so much about baking from their grandmother. Ruth enjoyed reading, but her most precious time was spent with her family.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Mary and James Pentelow of Plymouth and Nancy Pippenger of Plymouth; her son, Wayne Pippenger of Salida, Colorado; her grandchildren, Amy and Clint Spriggs of Mishawaka, Indiana, David and Kristina Pentelow of Mishawaka, Jerrico and Brent Grinard of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jake Forrest Pippenger of Phoenix, Arizonia; six great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Samuelson. She was preceded in death by her borther Arthur J. Samuelson.
